Maunawili Falls Closes

The state has decided to close the popular Maunawili Falls after many complaints from neighbors that the area is over run with hikers and disturbing the residents with noise, trash, illegal parking, etc.

A preservation group looking to alter trail site to protect Hawaiian site. Renovations and altering the trail itself will take place during this time for safety and better maintenance.

There are also plans to add a parking lot and restrooms in this area. Please consider alternative Oahu trail to hike in the meantime... including Manoa Falls that just finished a beautiful 2 year renovation. maunawili-falls.html

Kailua Farmers Market Returns

We are excited to announce that the Kailua Farmers Market has relocated to the Enchanted Circle Shopping Center in Kailua.

This is the 3rd relocation for this event since Pali Lanes closed along with its parking lot that was used to set up on.

This farmers market will continue to take place on Sunday mornings and Thursday afternoons. It's considered to be one of the best farmers markets on the island and worth checking out if you have not been. things-to-do-in-kailua.html

Off the Hook makes the cut

If you’re not familiar there is a small hole-in-the-wall poke place up in Manoa Valley that’s not too far from Waikiki.

We have fallen in love with their poke bowl creation as others have. And to no surprise there is usually a long line when you arrive.

Off The Hook is known for their special Cold Ginger creation…it’s yummy! We also love their Volcano Fire, Hawaiian Style, and Wassabi Poke (that’s great flavor but doesn’t burn the nose).

Do not pass up on the toppings, which is considered to be the glue to bring the flavors together and separating themselves from other poke bowl shops… hawaiian-poke.html

Surfing in Oahu

In honor of surfing being included as an event in the Olympics for the first time, and Hawaii's own Carissa Moore taking the gold medal in Japan for Women Surfing, we would like say a big Mahalo to her for amazing effort and representing us well.

Inspired by Duke Kahanamoku who was an Olympian medalist himself for swimming, also popularized the ancient Hawaiian sport of surfing.

Many would say it's a way of life here in Hawaii...I would have to agree! Hawaiian-Surfing.html
